Carioca beans back in the consumers table after price drop

The price of the beans, which became the villain of inflation in June and July, took a day off in the last two months. In the September inflation, the carioca beans had 6% drop compared to the previous month, according to data from the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics).
The price relief if given by a set of three factors, explains the President of the Ibrafe (Brazilian Institute of beans) Marcelo Eduardo Lüders. The biggest offer of substitutes, with the importation of 60000 tons of black beans and mites, reducing demand on the basis of high prices and a slight increase in offer for good harvest in September led to the reduction.
From mid-October until the end of November, a new crop in the State of São Paulo, being favoured by climate, should hold new highs. "Consumers should find the kilo for less than $ 10 with more ease from next month," said the expert.
The normalisation of the carioca bean stock and a stabilization in prices should only occur from half January 2017, when starts the harvest of the first crop. Still, the food should not return to the level of price of January this year, when cost, on average, R$ 5.25 in the State capital, according to a survey of the IEA (Institute of agricultural economics).
The average price of pound in August was R$ 11.44. From January to September, the carioca beans went up 139%. In 12 months, the high is 155%.
