Cade approves merger of Cargill and Copersucar in sugar

The Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade) approved without restrictions the joint venture between the Giants Cargill and Copersucar to combine their global marketing activities of sugar, according to order of the General Superintendence of the Court published on Monday in the Diário Oficial da União.
The deal was announced at the end of March.
Copersucar is the largest global marketer of sugar production-integrated and largest Brazilian exporter of the product, while Cargill, based in the United States and revenue of 137 billion dollars with several agricultural business, originates in the main sugar producing countries around the world, including Brazil.
