CADE approves merger of Holcim with Lafarge

The Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade) approved the merger between the cement Holcim Switzerland and France's Lafarge. The decision was unanimous.
The Court accepted the proposal of the companies for which the business was closed with the sale of cement and concrete factories and distribution centers within a radius of 300 kilometers between the marks.
The companies have proposed selling Holcim cement plants in Cantagalo (Rio de Janeiro) and Lafarge in Santa Cruz (Rio de Janeiro) and Cantagalo.
The companies also hit sales of Holcim concrete factories in Pouso Alegre and Lafarge in arcs, both cities in Minas Gerais.
Wise was still selling assets distribution centers controlled by Holcim in Pouso Alegre and Lafarge in Arcos.
The Rapporteur of the proceedings before the Administrative Court, Ashlie's counselor Aguilar, highlighted the cooperation of companies as a "proactive" important for making the decision.

According to Aguilar, the acquisition of units can create the fifth largest cement plant in the country, if the assets are bought by the same company. The rapporteur has determined that the merger can only be completed after the sale of the assets.

The estimated turnover with the merger is in excess of $ 44 billion a year.
