Natura's net profit rises 11.7% in the quarter

SAO PAULO-the cosmetics manufacturer Natura recorded net income of r $ 240,2 million in the second quarter, up 11.7% over the same period last year. The result was higher than expected by the market. The average expectations of Bradesco, Itaú BBA, Brazil and j. p. Morgan pointed to a stable performance, for $ 215 million.

The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) rose 4.7% to r $ 409,9 million. A reduction in financial expenses contributed to the larger number on the last line of the balance sheet. Spending on interest payment and Exchange variation fell 71.3%, to $ 11.4 million.
