L ' Oréal's revenue rises 4.2% in Q2

SAO PAULO-the French L ' Oréal's net revenue rose 4.2% in the second quarter, on annual basis, operating today disclosed by the company in advance. In total, the Group won 5.81 billion euros. Disregarding the effects of the different markets in which it operates, the growth would be 6.4%.
The largest expansion of the period was presented in Latin America, with high of 13.2%, to 507.7 million euros. "Brazil is coming back to grow in our operation, thanks to the products for the care of hair and makeup professionals", commented in a note, the company.
In the region that includes Asia and the Pacific, the high was 4.5%, to 1.05 billion euros. In total, the thread called "new markets", which in practice means the company's business in emerging markets, grew 7.3%, reaching revenue of 2.11 billion euros.
In Western Europe, there was an increase of 1.3% in turnover, to 1.91 billion euros. "The European market is losing pace constantly, and even then we managed to register expansion thanks to Germany, France and other countries of the North," said the group.
In North America, the performance was better. L ' Oréal increased from 4.9% in revenue, to 1.37 billion euros. "In all regions and segments in which we operate we present above-market performance," said Jean-Paul Agon, Chief Executive and Board of Directors.
At the same time, the business area of the company that had better performance was that of cosmetics for personal use, with a high of 7.2% in turnover, to 409.5 million euros. The luxury segment was 5.1 percent, with revenues of 1.4 billion euros, while the beauty products in General grew 4.7% to 2.8 billion euros.
In the first half of this year, the L ' Oréal States that reached a net revenue of 11.74 billion euros. The high against the same period in 2012 was 4.7%. The data has not been audited and the full balance of the company will be released on August 29.
