Selina group will invest $ $60 mi in Brazil

Founded in Panama, the Group intends to accelerate the movement Selina hotel expansion units in Brazil. Over the next five years, the network wants to make investments in the order of $ $60 million – mainly in opening operations in cities with large flow of executives and young tourists, too. "The upturn in Latin America has been something organic, once we developed a proposal for hosting that meet since youth groups in tourist travel to older entrepreneurs", said Director of network expansion, Daniel Hermann. According to the Executive, the network currently has 700 beds in Brazil. By the year 2022, the expectation is that this number reaches between 8000 to 10000 beds. "We consider the Brazilian tourism market with great growth potential. Our expansion plan is starting in cities of Rio de Janeiro and also in opening units in São Paulo ", argued the Commission, noting that the units must also rely on the possibility of the Executive Office in those units for rent Hotels. Currently, the average rate of occupation of the network is in 70%. For him, the hosting model has been seen "very positive" by Brazilian clients, once-depending on the location of the unit – there is the adequacy of hotel services of the operation. "One of our strategies is precisely the adaptation of the mix of options of room at the hotel, but also in the portfolio of services provided to guests, as for example offer programs connected with what the region offers," he said. According to the Executive, the proposal is to offer hosting options that vary from $ $15 to $ $100 per night. Asked about the key challenges and differences between operating in Brazil and the other countries, there is great effort says Hermann in trying to balance the "pattern" of the network with the regional settings and logistics of local partnerships. "Brazil is one of our largest markets and the public varies greatly depending on the region. For example, in São Paulo, we will see a greater focus in condo-hotels. Already in Florianópolis, the proposal is geared toward the surf, "argued Hermann. To the Managing Director of the consulting business ba} Stockler, Luis Henrique Stockler, there is comparatively little offer of hotel network with this proposal in Brazil. "The network of Ibis hotels, for example, has a very low cost to the guest, but on the other hand does not offer both services of that type to the client," said He. In addition to the specialist, the average ticket of young tourists generally tends to be low, but the expense of executives just compensating for this difference. "The younger audience tends to use more this category of hosting on weekends or in smaller periods, such as holidays. Already, executives must take during the days of the week these units, "explained Stockler. Finally, according to him, the network has competitive advantage with this flexible proposal in terms of seasonality in the region. "It is very important that the unit environment and prepare yourself with the surroundings of the site to suit both this young audience but also executives during the week," concluded Stockler.
