Camex maintains zero import tax on tractors for semi-trailers

The foreign trade Chamber (Camex) extended tariff reduction for two types of road tractors for semi-trailers, included in the list of exceptions to the Common external tariff (Letec). With the decision, the import tax rate will continue until 31 December to zero this year. The tax on the product, whose original rate is 35%, was withdrawn in September last year. The extension of the benefit is published in resolution in the Diário Oficial da União (GIVE).
The Camex also altered to 2% import tax rates levied on nine computer goods and about a series of capital goods, all in ex-tarifários condition. Also reset the tribute to two other capital assets: two types of combinations of machines, applying exclusively to train diesel-electric locomotives.
The lower tax will be effective until December 31, 2017, both for computer items as for the capital. In the case of products with a zero tax rate, the benefit will be worth up to December 31, 2016. Without the reduction, the original rates on products are varied, as 8%, 12% and 14%.
