Vehicles produced by Audi in Brazil will have 35% domestic content

The world of shopping Vice President Audi AG, Bernd Martens, believes it will be able to motivate the local suppliers to invest to meet the quality demands of the company.
According to the Executive — who has knowledge of Brazil's auto market on the basis of previous experience in own Audi and Volkswagen —, the company will act with a team and also will bring a group of outside experts to work in the selection and qualification of suppliers. "We want the same quality," he said, pointing out that the car manufactured here will be identical to that made in Germany.
Audi announced today the resumption of production of vehicles in the country. Will be manufactured models A3 Sedan and the Volkswagen factory in Q3 utility in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. The investment in the line will be of 150 million euros (over $ 500 million).
Despite all this effort to develop local suppliers, Martens said there's no reason he can't bring out manufacturers to meet the needs of the Assembly line. But he believes that that won't be necessary.
In a speech made earlier to talk with journalists, Martens said the plan is to have a national content rate of 30% to 35%. Will also be offered a flex engine for models.
