Export of cars surprises and grows 25%

Exports of vehicles are surpassing forecasts of automakers and causing a review in projections of vehicle production in Brazil. So far the companies predicted close 2013 with production of almost 3.5 million vehicles a high of 4.5% for 2012.
The new numbers will be released next month» "the bias is high," says the President of the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea), Luiz Moan. Year to date, output grew by 15.8% in 2012, with 2.169 million units. The past month had record production for the month of July, with 312.3 thousand units.
Moan provides high exports and fall in imports, which will strengthen local production. External sales must have a 20% jump compared to last year, reaching 534 thousand units. In values, the high so far is 9.8%, with $ 9,296 billion. The year should close with an amount close to $ 16 billion, 8.8% more than last year. Before, the forecast was to repeat the $ 14.7 billion exported in 2012.
According to Moan, the change in projections is the result of a warm-up on the domestic markets of the countries for which the Brazil exports.
Responsible for 77% of Brazilian exports, Argentina expanded its shopping at 25% in the first half (last available data), to 208 thousand vehicles compared to 166 thousand in the same period in 2012.

In the seven months of 2013 2.141 million vehicles were sold, 2.9% more than in the same period last year. July had the best result of the year, with 342.3 thousand units, but the average daily sales fell.
Moan points out that there has been a reduction in the flow of people in the shops because the events occurred in a number of shopping centers.
Stocks also fell, 415 thousand for 395 thousand vehicles, or 39 to 35 days of sales numbers that the Anfavea considers appropriate before the high volume of brands and models of cars available to the consumer.
Automakers ended July with 154 thousand employees. This year, 2.6 thousand vacancies were opened. Compared to July, 20.12 are 6.5 thousand new jobs.
