UNILEVER WILL BUILD NEW FACTORY IN THE COUNTRY

Unilever announced that it will build its 10th factory in Brazil, in the city of Cascavel (SP). It will be the first production unit of the company to be erected from the plant after 10 years.
According to the President of the company in Brazil, Fernando Fernandez, still can't talk which items are produced on site, but the operations will begin in 2015 and some of the products are unique in the country.
The total land has an area of one million square meters, emerging as the largest factory of the company. "We already have factories in some categories, such as ice cream, hair product and clothing, who already work at maximum capacity," said Fernandez.
The company, however, did not give many details about investments. "We will continue to invest about r $ 2 million in our brands per year; R $ 500 million in manufacturing (production) and distribution; and, in new factories and other, the figure exceeds the sum, "he said. The Executive invests in Brazilian consumer sector growth, especially in the segment of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
"It's an industry that has been growing at a strong pace. Consumers are buying these items more frequently and the inclusion of women in the labour market has been driving this performance, "said. Unilever also announced the opening of its 10 distribution center (DC) in the country, for October. Located in the city of Pouso Alegre (MG), it will cater to the cities of the southeast of the country.
