BAYER AGREES to BUY CONCEPTUS for $ 1.1 billion

The German chemicals and pharmaceutical Bayer announced that it will buy California-based Conceptus to boost its segment of contraceptives. The agreement says the American company at $ 1.1 billion.
Bayer will launch a tender offer of $ 31 per share in cash by Conceptus in the next ten days. The transaction should be completed in the middle of this year, depending on regulatory approval.
