Government authorizes readjustment in price of medicines

The Government, through the Council of Ministers of the Board of market regulation of Medicines (CMED), authorised, on Tuesday, price adjustment of medications from March 30. The adjustment should take as a reference the price Manufacturer used from March 31, 2012. Should be used for pricing the national consumer price Index (IPCA), calculated by the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE), accumulated from March 2011 to February 2012.
After the official publication of the IPCA February 2013, which was 0.60%, the CMED edit specific resolution on how to define the Maximum price and Manufacturer Price to the consumer of medicines and the form of presentation of Report by marketing companies, highlights the resolution published in the Diário Oficial da União (DOU).
