Before a bad year, casting to 2014 is stable production

The economic scenario for the motorcycle industry follows bad this year and casting to 2014 shouldn't be growing, according to the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, and Bicycles (Abraciclo). The entity designs a year of stability due to the uncertain economic environment and to the largest number of holidays, picture accented by the completion of the World Cup.
"Our perspective is of a stable 2014, without changes in scenery compared to 2013, which continued with the tightening of credit and the contraction of economic activity", justifies the President of Abraciclo, Fermanian Landmarks. According to the Executive, with the Cup, Brazilians tend to consume other products such as televisions, and that can postpone the buying decision of a motorcycle.
In comparison with the result of 2011 2012 already showed a significant drop of 20% of the production of motorcycles, to 1.69 million. For closing of 2013, it is expected to maintain the same volumes of production, wholesale sales and exports hit in 2012.
According to Abraciclo, in November were produced 155.5 million motorcycles, up 12.8% compared to the previous year. The accumulated from January to November, the production reached 1.58 million units, which represents a fall of 2.2% compared to the same period in 2012.
How to wholesale sales, were marketed 130.4 million motorcycles, an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous year. Have year to date, there has been a fall of 2.8% of sales, for 1.47 million unit as compared to the same period in 2012.
In November, there was a slight improvement of the licensing sector. 122.1 million motorcycles were sold, representing an increase of 0.3% in the annual comparison.
However, year to date, there has been decline of 8.3% of plates issued in relation to the same period last year, to 1.37 million units. "We suffered with the downturn of the economy," says Fermanian.
Exports against negative numbers presented by the production and sales of two-wheel industry, exports of motorcycles had a better result. According to Abraciclo, external sales in November totaled 10.6 thousand motorcycles, growth of 6.6% compared to the previous year, when 10 thousand units were exported.
Already in the accumulated from January to November this year, there was a 2.6% increase in exports compared to the same period of last year, rising from 95.5 thousand units to 98 thousand motorcycles.
