Keep air resumed slow with second consecutive high of 3.2%

After 19 consecutive falls, positive outcome of March and April may indicate best moments for national companies. Pre-crisis level, however, is far from being achieved
São Paulo-in April, for the second consecutive month, the Brazilian Airlines achieved a slight growth in domestic demand, ending, for now, a successive cycle retractions. Still, the low basis of comparison indicates that the sector may be far from coming back to the pre-crisis level.
In April, according to the Brazilian Association of Airlines (Abear), domestic demand for air transport (number of paying passengers per kilometer flown) had growth of 3.2% in comparison with the same month of 2016. On the same basis of comparison, the offer (available seats per kilometres flown) was released of 2%. In the period, the total number of passengers carried was 6,910,000, or 2.82% growth. Data is referring to the Avianca, blue, Gol and Latam.
"It seems that two trends may be over. According to him, the risk that events could bring the airlines go beyond demand-related impacts. One factor that can affect directly the sector is the high American coin, which impacts the operating cost-very '' dollarized ''-of the companies. In April, Brazilian Airlines (Avianca, blue, Gol, Latam and Latam Cargo) transported 24360 tonnes of cargo; the result represented a pullback of 8.17% in comparison with the same period in 2016.
International market
In the international segment, the demand in April had a growth of 17.37%, compared to the same month of 2016. In the same comparison, the offer was discharged of 11.9%.
