PepsiCo''s profit falls the $ 931 million in the first quarter

New York-PepsiCo announced today it had net profit of $ 931 million in the first quarter (ended March 19), less than the gain of $ 1.22 billion in the same period last year.
In the same comparison, earnings per share fell to $ 0.64, $ 0.81. With adjustments, however, the gain per share rose to $ 0.89, $ 0.83, surpassing the projection of analysts queried by Thomson Reuters of $ 0.81.
Revenue fell 2.9 percent, to $ 11.86 billion, getting a little below the market forecast of $ 11.88 billion. The company continued to be pressured by the weakening of foreign currencies, which had a negative impact of 4.5 percentage points in the sales.
At 10:24 (Eastern), shares of PepsiCo fell 0.6% in pre-market business in New York.
