Ice cream consumption growth stimulates investment and industry consolidation

The ice cream is part of the diet of the Brazilians, in different menus and at all times of the year. Consumption is the determining factor for the emergence of projects and for the development of already established. Statistics raised by Associação Brasileira das Indústrias and ice-cream sector (Abis), since 2003, showing the ancestry of the amount ingested per Brazilian ice cream. In 2003, it was 3.83 gallons; last year, reached the mark of 6.19 litres – representing an increase of 61.6% in the period. The total food consumption, in 2013, reached 1.244 billion liters.
Ice cream industries have been devoted increasingly to nutritious and tasty products. According to data from Secretaria da Fazenda Rio Grande do Sul, there are currently 326 active enterprises in the State. The Gaucho Association of industries of Edible ice cream (Agagel) represents and defends the interests of the associated companies. The entity operates, for 15 years, through various fronts, highlighting the professional qualification.
The journey from the ice cream goes to meet this purpose. The event combines training, through technical, programming and implementation of business, possible due to the exhibition that brings together suppliers of the segment. The 15th edition of the activity will occur in the next few days on July 31 and August 1, the Weiand Hotel, in Lajeado. Is confirmed the presence of 33 companies for negotiating shows, among them, of equipment, raw materials and technology. The entity expects to gather about 200 entrepreneurs from the State on both days of the event.
The President of Agagel, businessman lajeadense Nilson Gemelli, highlights the opportunities that the journey of the ice cream provides to participants. "We hope that the professionals who visit the event are new technologies, inputs and packaging, so they can improve their products. To use to expand its network of relationships, as well as deepen their knowledge ". The journey from the ice cream will also be the opportunity for the celebration of 15 years of Agagel and for the election of the new Board of the entity (biennium 2015-2016).
