"I'm working around 2:0 pm a day", says Ana Paula Bógus, who a little more than three months in charge of the company's operation in Chile, the fifth largest of the Kimberly-Clark in Latin America.
At the age of 39 years and for 5 years with the company, she knows that his professional rise was swift, but says that the success was not planned. Before, he came as a result. "What made the difference was my birthplace, my way of dealing with people", says the Executive.
She has a degree in business administration from PUC in São Paulo, has a post-graduate degree in international economics and has an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, in the United States. Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark, Ana Paula worked seven years at Nestlé.
From his Office in Santiago, the Chilean capital, she chatted with EXAME.com by phone and talked about his career, changes in its path – which began in the financial market, the expatriate life and the challenges of being a woman and President of a large company. And they are not few. The account executive who was barred in a networking group of company Presidents in Chile, just for being a woman. Check out the excerpts of the interview:
EXAME.com: how his career started, you thought you'd make it to the Presidency of a multinational? This someday was your goal?
Ana Paula Bógus: this was never planned, I guess that's why I got where I arrived. What made the difference was my birthplace, my way of dealing with people, to treat everyone the same way. Reach the Chair of General Manager was a consequence.
EXAME.com: Your early career was in the banking industry, the Lady spent 7 years working in the financial market until departing for business area. What made this transition in his career?
Ana Paula Bógus: started working in Bank as a Secretary in the Bamerindus. And then entered the internship program. What I liked most was the relationship with customers, bring profit through the bond with the customer. Left bank area because I got a scholarship and went to do MBA from a year and a half in the United States. There, I met the supply chain manager of Nestlé at the time who always told me that I had to get out of the Bank.
The financial market is lonely. For you to be well and receive a high bonus, somebody has to be wrong and receive smaller bonuses. That bothered me. In the industry that doesn't happen. If it goes well, all are good. I talked to him about it and I ended up at Nestle, still no position. I thought it was time for a change. I was as a trainee Manager and went to the shopping area. I was seven years old, before moving to Kimberly-Clark.
