Movement in Stores Grows 4.3% in Carnival

Brazilian physical retail recorded a 4.3% increase in consumer flow during carnival week 2020, compared to the same period last year. The data is part of a survey by Seed Digital, a retail data collection and analysis company. According to the research, the result was driven by the pharmacy, clothing and cosmetics segments. On February 22 and 23, the flow of people fell by 5% and 11%, respectively, compared to the 2019 Carnival weekend. Already on Monday (24) and Tuesday (25), there was a high of 26% and 4%, respectively. Compared to the average weeks of the year, the movement fell 7.7%.
