Prices at supermarket are high in April

In April, the supermarket price index (IPS), calculated by the São Paulo Supermarket Association (APAS) and the Instituto de Pesquisas Economic Research Foundation (FIPE), recorded a slight high of 0.36%. In the accumulated of the first four-quarter of 2019, IPS recorded inflation of 3.68%. In the accumulated of the last 12 months, IPS recorded an increase of 8.75%. In April, of the 27 categories followed, 17 presented inflation. This scenario is slightly better than in the previous month, when increases in 20 categories were recorded.
