Malwee Textile Group will expand by 4 times investment up to 2021

SÃO PAULO-The textile group Santa Catarina Malwee announced on Thursday that it will invest 100 million reais between this year and 2021, with much of the resources being devoted to the modernization of its factory park. The volume of resources applied in the previous three-year period had been 25 million reais, the company reported. The group, which employs 5500 employees, owns four factories today, but from June will integrate two units into a strategy "for production optimization and efficiency gains". Malwee said it will integrate the Pomerode plant (SC) into the Jaraguá do Sul Matrix Unit (SC), unifying staff, machinery and equipment. Among other investments of the group is a process of washing jeans which, according to Malwee, allows to reduce the average use of water from 100 liters to 200 milliliters per piece. The group also reported that it will apply resources in artificial intelligence technologies and Internet of things in areas that include production control, which will allow the company to predict possible equipment failures.
