São Paulo Remove GST from fruits and vegetables

The Governor of Sao Paulo, João Doria, reset the tax on transactions involving the movement of goods (ICMS) of fruits, vegetables, and fruits and vegetables that are packed or cooled. The Decree was published on Wednesday, 30, in the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo in Brazil. With the decision, producers don't have to pay 18% tax on the goods. The exemption already exists for the bulk of fresh produce. The measure applies to operations with groceries like squash, lettuce, potato, onion, spinach, bananas and papaya, among others. These products can be grated, sliced, chopped, sliced, turned, or deciduous trees, peeled but without the addition of any other product.
