Gaucho supermarkets Predict High of 9.5%

Supermarkets in Rio Grande do Sul project a 9.5% growth in Christmas and New Year sales in 2019, compared to the same period last year. The projection is from the Gaucho Association of Supermarkets (Agas). According to the entity, the prices of typical end-of-year items are on average 8.5% higher than the parties of 2018. Among respondents, 45% said they will increase the number of employees during the period and 25% of retailers revealed that they will renovate, expand or open stores in 2020.
