Construction of the biomass plant is authorized by the Government of Brazil Eldorado

The Eldorado Company J&F Group Brazil received earlier in the week, an environmental license for installation of biomass (thermal power plant), which will produce energy with the burning of wood chips, in Três Lagoas. The investment will be R $320 million and is estimated to generate thousand direct jobs in the municipality. The authorization was issued by the Institute of Environment of Mato Grosso do Sul (Imasul) and the generating capacity of the plant will be of 50 megawatts of energy. As calculated by JP News, the new venture will provide greater autonomy to the company, which already has an ongoing capacity expansion. Another project that will be taken up is the production of a second pulp line, project started in 2017 and is paralyzed. On the AUTHORIZATION document autorizativo was delivered on Tuesday (22), by the Environment Secretary, economic development, production and family agriculture, Jaime Verruck, and the Chief Executive Officer of Imasul (Institute of Environment of Mato Grosso South), Ricardo Eboli. According to the holder of the Semagro, the plant should start to be built in March and will be the first plant of energy from biomass of eucalyptus to come into operation in Mato Grosso do Sul, which inaugurates a new phase in the State forestry. The project is important to the diversification of use of forest debris, like leaves, roots, bark, other by-products of wood that does not serve to produce cellulose. "It is the first major project from eucalyptus biomass that begins to be installed in the State", celebrates Verruck. According informed by the Coordinator of Sustainability from Eldorado Brazil, Fábio José de Paula, the initial forecast was to install the plant in Selvíria, however, studies showed that the ideal place for the venture would be Three Ponds, which led to company to request new environmental license.
