Building materials retail back up 9%

Retail sales of building materials registered a fall of 9% in May compared to the same month last year and indentation of 6% before April this year. The data are from the National Association of traders of construction materials (Anamaco). According to the entity, the fall is linked mainly to the Teamsters ' walkout-until the beginning of the strike, 7% came from sales of recorded in April. The Anamaco claims that 90% of the shops were affected in some way by the stoppage, resulting in up to 40% fall in sales in the period in some establishments.
