River has the highest occupancy of hotels in Carnival since 2013

A survey published today (20) by the Association of Hotels of the State of Rio de Janeiro (ABIH-RJ) reveals that the Brazilians, with most of the State of São Paulo and miners led the tourists who came to participate in the Carnival, representing 75% of the total audience. Among the foreign visitors, the Argentines were most, followed by Chileans, Americans and French. The President of ABIH-RJ, Alfredo Lopes, said the occupation in hotels exceeded expectations, reaching general average in the city of 87%. According to him, the result was record since 2013 and is largely to the successful #vemprorio campaign, held in the second half of last year in partnership with the tourism company of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro (Riotur). In some areas, such as Flamengo/Botafogo and Ipanema/Leblon, the reserves reached 98% and 91%, respectively, in a row of Copacabana and Leme, with 89%, bar and São Conrado (85%) and Center (84%). The reserves also boosted Carnival in cities in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, whose hotels recorded 82% average, one percentage point above the result of 2017. Paraty, in Costa Verde, was the highlight of the period, with 98% occupancy. Then came Armação dos Búzios (92.5%) and Cabo Frio, with 85% of rooms sold to date, both in the region of the Lakes.
