CADE approves sale of Unilever's margarine business to the Sigma

Cade (Administrative Council of economic defense) approved the sale of Unilever's margarine business to the Sigma Bidco B.V., a holding company controlled by American private equity fund KKR & Co. The decision is in the (Diário Oficial da União) on Monday (5/2). The operation, announced at the end of last year, did not reveal major competitive concerns because the Sigma does not take your portfolio any company in the business. The deal, therefore, does not lead to overlap horizontally or vertical integration in Brazil.
