Industrial goods consumption rises 0.3% in October compared with September, says Ipea

The demand for industrial goods in the country rose slightly in October, according to the Institute of applied economic research (Ipea). The Ipea monthly Indicator apparent consumption of industrial goods advanced 0.3 percent compared to September. The result was driven by the growth of 0.8% in the domestic production of industrial goods net of exports, with a 1% decline in imports of these goods. "With this result, the apparent consumption of October, after falling 2.4 percent in September, closed the quarter with 0.9% high", highlights the planning and research of the Ipea and author of the analysis, Leonardo Mello of Carvalho.Na compared to the same month in the year past, the domestic demand for industrial goods rose 2.1 percent in October. The result exceeded the performance presented by the industrial production, which recorded high of 1.1%, according to the IBGE. In 12 months, the cumulative demand for industrial goods followed more intense pace of growth (4.3%) that the presented by the industrial production (2.3%).
