Inesfa points out that scrap can climb to 30% with merger of Arcelor and Votorantim

The merger of long steel businesses of Votorantim and ArcelorMittal in Brazil should raise the price of scrap in almost 30%, calculates the Inesfa, an organization that represents businesses of scrap, raw material used in the manufacture of the product. The Institute, as well as CSN, is an interested party in the Act of concentration under examination at the Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade), in an operation considered complex by the organ. Gerdau, the largest competitor of Arcelor in Brazil for the production of long steels, non made the request to be an interested party.
