Consumer delinquencies fall 9.1 percent in April, says Boa Vista SCPC

São Paulo – the consumer delinquencies fell 9.1 percent in April compared to March, in series with seasonal adjustment, disclosed on Tuesday, 9, the Boa Vista SCPC. The retreat was also observed in the confrontation with April 2016, of 11.5%. In 12 months, the low is 4.6% and in the year of 1.7%.

The Boa Vista SCPC reaffirms, in a note, that the drop in defaults reflects the greater caution of families because of economic headwinds of the last two years. According to the institution, the current pace of decline in the delinquency should remain with the scenario designed sustainable demand resumption of credit in an environment of little economic growth and lower interest income and inflation under control.
The default indicator is based on the amount of new records of debts due and unpaid informed to Boa Vista by the companies creditors.
In Sao Paulo, using as a reference the number of letters of notification sent to consumers instead of the numbers of active debts at the base of the SCPC, by virtue of State Law No. 15,659/2015.
