Shoplifting losses of loads in Brazil reach 1.4 bi R$ in 2016

The damage to the cargo theft have reached record value of more than 1.4 billion R$ in 2016, almost double the R$ 761 million recorded in 2011. According to data released by the CNT (National Confederation of transport) and IBGE (Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics), 61% of all cargo in Brazil uses the modal road system; 21% go through railways, 14% by the waterways, River, sea and port terminals only 4% by air.
