J&J, Novartis and Takeda negotiate purchase Hypermarcas, say sources

SAO PAULO (Reuters)-Johnson Johnson (JNJ &. N: Quotes), Novartis (NOVN. S: Quotes) and Takeda Pharmaceutical (4502. T: quotes) are in negotiations with the control pad Hypermarcas (HYPE3.SA: quotes) for purchase of brazilian drug company, said two people familiar with the matter on Monday.
Housewives families of investment Holdings and Igarapava Maiorem SA de CV, which hold a combined stake of 34% Hypermarcas, hired the investment banking units of Bradesco (BBDC4.SA: quotes) and Credit Suisse (CSGN. S: Quotes) to assist the sale, said the sources.

Banks, J&J and Takeda did not respond to requests for comments, and Novartis declined to speak on the subject.

On Sunday, the newspaper O Globo columnist Lauro Garden reported that the controlling shareholders Hypermarcas were discussing the sale with foreign investors, without identifying them.
