Creation of organ to coordinate gas sector splits associations

Private sector associations drooping about how should the business model of the natural gas industry have disagreements about the creation of a control organ of the segment. The Government established a study group to discuss the market, after Petrobras announce that they will not take responsibility for all production and all gas transport to the distributors. Associations that make up the Group were responsible for formulating a proposal. Some, like the Abraceel (energy sales companies) advocate the creation of a body like the ONS (national system operator) of the electrical system, to coordinate production and transport. It is important that there is a control agent, second Alexander Lee, Director of the entity, because of a piggybacking on the market: "there are companies that produce and also have gas pipelines". For the Abegás (the distributors), the idea would not work, says the President Augusto Salomon. "Most of the gas production today is associated with the oil: when it extracts a, you capture the other. A court cannot determine in which field the LPG should be produced. " The IBP (of oil) defends an officer whose function would be to load the system — that is, correct excesses of gas entering the pipes — and the transparency to the volumes handled. "It is a necessity to have a body", says Luiz Costamillan, Executive Secretary of the IBP.
