Production of motorcycles grow 7.8% in October compared with October 2016, says Abraciclo

The production of motorcycles in Brazil grew 7.8% in October this year compared with the same month of last year, reported on Monday, 13, the Brazilian Association of manufacturers of motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, and Bicycles (Abraciclo). 77000 units were produced last month. The volume, compared to September, features high shy of just 0.5%.
The numbers, according to Abraciclo, President Marcos Fermanian, confirm "trend to improved industry performance starting next year. Despite the positive results in October, the industry still registers fall in the first 10 months of the year, with 885,000 production units, 0.3% less than the volume in the same range as last year.
Sales
The increase in production had the help of the internal market. Last month, the dealers sold a total 68200 motorcycles, high of 9.1 percent compared to October of last year and growth of 3.1% in comparison with September. However, as well as in the production, the internal market still faces retraction YTD, with the license plate of 860,000 units, which corresponds to a retreat of 5.4% as compared to the same period in 2016.
Exports
Exports also gave significant contribution to production. The number of motorcycles sold abroad reached 7700 units in October, an increase of 58% compared to October last year, but indentation of 30.8% compared to September.
