HP will buy Samsung printers area for $ $1,05 bi

New York-the HP inked a deal to buy the printer Division of Samsung Electronics for $ 1.05 billion. The agreement seeks to assist the company in Silicon Valley to grow in the devices with large turnover, which deal with printing and copies to groups of employees from offices.
The transaction, subject to regulatory approval, should be closed within 12 months, stated on Monday the companies.
After it is completed, Samsung has agreed to make an investment of $ 100,000,000 to $ 300,000,000 in HP through the purchase of shares on the open market.
Created as part of the Division of Hewlett-Packard last year, HP sells personal computers, but gets most of its profit from the supply of inks and toner for printers that sell.
She is the market leader in the segment of printers to desktop computers. This deal, however, has grown recently, in part because the personal computer users print fewer pages currently.
Last month, HP announced that it had an 18% drop in its revenue with ink and toner in the third fiscal quarter, compared with the same period last year, while hardware sales unit of printers fell 10%.
The Chief Executive of HP, Dion Weisler, stated that the company seeks to improve revenue with larger combinations of printers and copiers, known as the A3, a segment dominated by companies such as Xerox Corp., Canon, Ricoh and Konica Minolta.
Samsung already has a sales business in this segment A3, which HP acquired now.
HP also get the ability to manufacture critical mechanisms within laser printers, known as print mechanisms.
Samsung has developed these mechanisms used in their own laser printers, while HP has used external suppliers for these components.
