Children''s day should move R$ 7.3 bi, says FecomércioRJ

River-the Day of children must move about from 7.3 billion R$ this year in trade across the country, according to estimates of the Trade Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FecomércioRJ) in partnership with Ipsos Research Institute.
The survey indicates that 40% of Brazilians plan to buy present for date, celebrated on October 12. The toys lead to purchase intent, mentioned by 59% of respondents, followed by clothes (27%), footwear (7%) and bicycles (3%).
The average ticket for the purchase of all present was around R$ 118.87. Male consumers are a little more generous, with intention to spend, on average, R$ 125.37, while consumers have shown intention to spend about R$ 113.35.
The study showed that 71% of respondents still wish to purchase gifts for the commemorative date by means of payment in sight. Last year, that percentage was 73%.
The research of children''s day was conducted during the period from 30 July to 9 August 2016, with 1,200 respondents in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Vitória, Florianopolis, Salvador, Recife and in over 65 Brazilian municipalities.
