Chefs earn online platforms space

SÃO PAULO-have you thought about getting a chef in your home, or order food at home made by one of those professionals with just one click? Entrepreneurs have perched on gastronomic area to secure this offer through platforms that meet the demand for speed and convenience.
This is the case of Bloochef, Apptite and LocalChef startups. The trio decided that the best ingredients for the smooth running of business was working with independent professionals and earn between 12% and 20% of the total value of the service. And, of course, have wide range of specialists available, to suit all tastes.
With a year in operation, the Bloochef, whose startup of the same name is based on the hub-cowrking space of Itaú, São Paulo-it''s practically a marketplace of chefs. Through the site, the user views the professionals, their specialties, and you can check what each offers. All menus include starter, main dish and dessert. The minimum order is for two people.
When choosing a professional, the client waits for confirmation of its availability, and then make the payment directly on the platform. "In hiring the service already included the ingredients, storage, final cleaning and a helper. The client, the chefs only utilize the infrastructure [cooker and cutlery]. Until the pans themselves lead ", explains the company''s commercial Director, Juliana Gonçalez.
To enter the list of Bloochef, there is a selection process of independent professionals, as in a fixed spot hiring at a restaurant. The curatorship of the company makes a pre-selection of the professional curriculum, schedule an interview presentation and then search referrals from places he has ever worked.
"After approved in these steps, we called the chef to do a test with the end customer. There are three stages with the Bloochef team, but who is actually the client approves, in the last step, "Juliana.
So far, are 55 professionals serving in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, and 700 registered customers. Juliana says that the company opened with equity of the four members, but doesn''t reveal the value, or the average revenue.
Focus on delivery
Facing the delivery model, the Apptite focuses on working with "home-made" dishes, made by who knows how to cook and this in search of extra income. The company focuses on artisanal foods, with fresh ingredients, always seeking escape from industrialized. The idea is to be a service for those who need faster meals in their daily lives, whether at home or in the Office.
Requests should be made at least 2 hours in advance, and can also be taken directly to the House of the professional. So far, the company operates in the city of São Paulo and allows orders from individual plates or for larger groups. The sooner the order is made, the more time the expert in the kitchen will have to prepare, and more choice of dishes will be available.
"For now, we''re working with a radius of six kilometers from Avenida Nove de Julho Avenue Brazil. So we left open the option of withdrawal. The only restriction in relation to the dishes offered [by the cooks] is when we know that the product matches well with deliveries of delivery ", explains William Parente, co-founder of Apptite.
In operation since February, the startup has 200 chefs available on application, chosen after the selection process, and almost 10000 registered users. To its founding partners and an angel investor made a contribution of approximately 500,000 R$. According to Parente, the monthly revenue is at 18000 R$.
Acting in a similar manner, the LocalChef also focuses on delivery, and works with artisanal foods. The startup meets in the city of São Paulo, with chefs and restaurants to perform the service.
Founded in February of this year with its own resources, the company didn''t open billing and reports with 60 professionals approved to work with 700 registered users.
"To make a request, the client must inform your zip code and see which chefs are available within a radius of five kilometers. We do this so that the food doesn''t get cold, "says Celso Misaki, CEO of LocalChef.
As in other businesses, entrepreneurs also performs a curator for the choice of the professionals, and uses a rating system for each.
