5.6% falls trade movement in the 1st semester

According to retail data calculated by the Boa Vista SCPC (Service Central de credit protection), the movement of trade fell 5.6% in the first half of the year, when compared against the same period of the previous year. In the evaluation of the data with seasonal adjustment, June presented 2.0% advance forward to may. In assessing the cumulative values in 12 months, the decline was 5.3%. Monthly comparison against the same month of the previous year, there was a fall of 1.1%.
Analysts point out that in spite of the difficulties that still permeate the Brazilian economic scenario, such as high interest rates, deteriorating labour market and high inflation, year-to-year evaluation June data showed milder declines than other months of the first half.
