Henkel uses technology of synthetic LaTeX for composition of flexible packaging for food

Henkel, a global leader in providing solutions in adhesives, sealants and surface treatment, has a full line of natural latex-free products, among them the LOCTITE LIOFOL CS 9300-21, for use in flexible packaging, pharmaceutical and hospital food, common in cookies, chocolates, ice cream etc. Worried about food safety, the company has developed the technology of cold sealing adhesive that replaces the natural latex by synthetic, thus eliminating, the risk to allergy sufferers. Henkel''s solution guarantees its customers high performance sealing without risk to the health of consumers.
The solution meets the resolution RDC n° february 26 July 2015, published by the national agency of sanitary surveillance (ANVISA), which rules on the requirements for compulsory labelling of the main foods that cause food allergies. According to the new resolution, the labels of foods and drinks (ingredients, food additives and supporting cast of technology packed in the absence of consumers, including those intended exclusively for industrial processing and those intended for food service) must inform if there is presence or possibility of cross-contamination of materials or allergenic ingredients such as wheat, soy, milk and also natural latex , one of the components used in packaging adhesives. The resolution provides for a period of 12 months for companies to promote the necessary adequacies in labelling of foods.
"Henkel has always been concerned with food safety and the food and beverage industry is following this premise, seeking to replace the natural latex in the whole production chain in order to avoid the risk for allergy sufferers. The LOCTITE LIOFOL CS 9300-21 has no natural latex and customers who use the adhesive in the composition of packages already have the standard established by the ANVISA''s food security. In addition, the sealing adhesive with high adhesion and sealing capacity, low blocking tendency, high mechanical stability and excellent printability and cleaning.
