IAV-IDV Retreats in March and Designs New Retractions

Retail sales closed March with real fall 7.5%, compared with the same month of the previous year and already discounted inflation, according to a survey of the IAV-IDV (Antecedent Index of sales of Retail Development Institute). Again, the negative result is driven by the continued deterioration of the macroeconomic pillars that direct consumption, in addition to the "calendar effect", with the celebration of Easter being in March. For the next few months, members of the IDV indicate the continuity of the retraction, with falls of 5.1% in April, 4.1% in May and 3.5% in June.
