Gross value of agricultural production is R$ in the beginning of year bi 501.4

The gross value of agricultural production (VBP) brazilian begins the year estimated at R$ 501.4 billion. The number was disclosed on Thursday (18) by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy (SPA) of the Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (Mapa). As a preliminary assessment, based on insufficient information to draw a more complete picture, it is expected that there may be changes over to 2016.
According to the general coordination of studies and analysis of the SPA, VBP of 501.4 billion R$ indicates a setback of 1.2% compared to that of 2015, R$ 507.4 billion. Crops represent 65% of that amount and recorded 0.3% reduction compared to the .VBP in 2015. Livestock means 35% of the total, with 2.8% retraction when when compared with last year.
Among the best performing products include groundnuts (16.2%); banana (14.2%); cacau (10%); coffee (17.8%); (19.8%); soy Castor (11.8%); wheat (17.1%) and Apple (33.5%). Soya contributes with 37.5% of the country''s crops and VBP represents a value of production estimated at 122.2 billion R$.
Various products had the fall of the value of production. Among them, those with greater reduction, so far, are herbaceous cotton ( -7.4%), rice ( -10.2%); sugar cane ( -11.3%) smoke ( -15.7%); corn ( -7.8%); orange ( -7.4%), tomatoes ( -49.6%) and uva ( -13.3%).
The regional information confirm the predominance of the South in the formation of national BA, with a value of R$ 148.0 billion, followed by the Midwest (134 billion R$), Southeast (127.2 billion R$), Northeast (49.4 billion R$) and North (R$ 29.8 billion).
According to SPA, the VBP analysis also shows the growing importance of soy in the North of the country, with emphasis on Tocantins, Rondônia and Pará. The study indicates that this year features favorable for most of the Brazilian States in terms of revenue. This can be attributed to soybeans and coffee in States such as Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.
