Mosaic invests in Brazil to recover fertilizer sector

One of the bets of the Mosaic for the fertilizer sector recovery is Brazil, where the U.S. company expanded its distribution and sales network. According to the CEO of the company, Joc O''Rourke, after political and economic crises in the country, Brazilian producers should have more access to credit, which should result in higher demand for nutrients. Sales of premium products of Mosaic in Brazil in 2016 are 70% higher than in the same period last year, according to the company.
In addition, the acquisition of fertilizer distribution business of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) in Brazil and in Paraguay, in 2014, the international unit of the Mosaic "considerably above expectations," said O''Rourke. The purchase, for $350 million, included $150 million in working capital, four mixers and storage facilities in Brazil and one in Paraguay, as well as warehouses and logistics services.
