Algar Agro invests $ 40 million in the production of PET bottles

With an investment of R $ 40 million, the Algar Agro, agricultural arm of Algar group, became self-sufficient in the production of PET bottles, used for the packaging of soybean oil.
Located in Uberlândia (MG), at the headquarters of Algar Agro, PET factory has a production capacity of 25 million units per month, and growth potential for up to 35 million units. According to the company, the package is considered to be the lightest in the world without losing the quality of the material, with four grams less than the current bottle, which weighs 18 g.
For the President of Algar Agro, Murilo Sant'Anna, the project follows the strategy of the company's operating efficiency. "All our investments are based on a strategic vision of sustainability, value capture and focus to meet the needs of the market," he said in a note.
The production of PET of Algar Agro will meet the demand of the two processing plants of the company, in Uberlândia and Porto Franco (MA).
