Volume of mergers and acquisitions sum $ 18.2 bi in 1st semester

The volume of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and acquisitions of shares (Paho) and corporate restructuring totaled 18.2 billion reais in the first half, lower volume for the last six years, said on Thursday the Anbima, representing capital market institutions.
The amount represented a decline of 74 percent compared to the same period in 2014, reflecting also a low number of operations, according to the entity. Were just 35 in 2015, compared to 62 ads made in the first six months of last year.
The two largest operations of the half were the sale of Moy Park Europe by the JBS, Marfrig with volume of 4.6 billion reais, and the merger of Santander Asset Management with Pioneer Brazil, controlled by Unicredit, which handled 2.3 billion.
