Novamed opens factory in Manaus (AM)

The same company Novamed controlling group of EMS-leader of the Brazilian pharmaceutical market for eight consecutive years-, opens today (25) one of the largest factories of solid drugs from Latin America and one of the most modern in the world. First industry to produce medicines in the free zone of Manaus, will generate 500 direct jobs and about two thousand indirect jobs, contributing to the absorption and the development of local labor. The event will be attended by the Minister of health, Arthur Chioro, and local authorities.
Novamed installations have 35 thousand square meters of constructed area in a land whose total area is 250 thousand square meters. Investment contributed amounted to r $ 385 million and the production capacity is 1.5 billion tablets a month.
To Carlos Sanchez, President of the Board of Directors of the controlling group, "to boosts the Group's pioneering Novamed and enable the increase of production capacity of medicines in national territory, contributing to the reduction of the dependence on imports and Brazilian expansion of access of the population to health".
With unique robotic system of weighing of raw material and integrated programs that allow even more precise reproduction of the processes, the factory has the most modern equipment available in the world market, imported from the United States, Germany, Italy and India.
The manufacturing process for medicines is fully automated and the documentation, electronics, which eliminates the use of paper. The machines and operations are integrated by software, enabling real-time monitoring of the procedures.
The Novamed, in addition to meeting the standards of manufacture of national health authorities (Anvisa) and comply with the most demanding international standards, follows all environmental policies and determinations of the competent organs of Manaus-the Municipal Environment and sustainability (SEMMAS), the Amazonas environmental protection Institute (IPAAM) and Municipal infrastructure (SEMINF).
