City Council approves order food with free gifts in São Paulo

A Bill to bar the sale of food and toys married was approved on Wednesday, day 2, at the Town Hall of São Paulo. The Bill authored by Councilor Arselino Tatto (EN) now follow the Mayor's Office Fernando Haddad (EN) that will decide whether the law will enter into force in the city.
The project includes inclusive gifts traditionally distributed by fast-food chains and Easter eggs with toys.
If approved, the establishment that breaches the rule must pay $ 1.5 million. In case of recidivism, the fine would go to $ 3,000. The Bill also provides for the forfeiture of the Charter and the closing of the establishment that sell food accompanied by giveaways.
His rationale, Tatto stated that the sale of snacks accompanied by toys "stimulates the child who is not yet fully formed sense to consume foods in inadequate amount, in addition to consuming high levels of saturated fat and trans fat."
The text also cites the "embarrassment that may cause their parents by themselves obliged to buy these products for their children face the enterprise marketing work together for children, which is the main target and big consumers of these products."
The law was passed in symbolic vote, so the President asks the favourable parliamentary session the Committee to remain as they are, and to oppose manifest. The only Councillor who has opposed the proposal was Ricardo Young (PPS).
With this same type of approval, in may, the City Council approved the end of the round robin in São Paulo. When it came to the Mayor's Office, the project was vetoed.
