Anfavea maintains growth projection from the sale of vehicles

SAO PAULO-the President of the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea), Luiz Moan Yabiku Júnior, kept the growth projections in the sale, production and exportation of vehicles this year. The entity provides, by the end of 2014, a high of 1.1% in licensing, 1.4% increase in vehicle production and high of 1.6% in exports.
To Moan, these numbers are optimistic. "The predictions did not remake, in view of the volatility. The most classic example are the exports, which had growth of 60 percent, "said. According to balance sheet released this Sunday (9), exports of light vehicles assembled presented high of 61.3% in April, compared to March.
The President of Anfavea reiterated that the tax on industrialized products (IPI) for automobiles should be increased from 1 July. According to him, the sector also awaits the conclusion of the negotiations of the Government of Brazil with Argentina, on agreement between the two countries concerning export. "We are in handling with the Government [Brazil]. We decided to treat [with the Government] the issue of Argentina and the question of the selectivity of the credit. The Government is negotiating with the banking sector. We are working for this to occur as soon as possible, "he said.
The President of Anfavea also highlighted the performance of agricultural machines for sale during the fair Agrishow, which occurred last week in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo State. Were sold last month, 6,057 vehicles, including tractors, combines, cultivators and backhoes, a high of 9.6% compared to March.
Moan upgraded the fair as a "success" for the sector. "It is a fair that has a lot of producers, flow of the most diverse types and regions. Is a bellwether of the market, to receive the industry's perspective. Trying to make an average, the market remains optimistic. Agribusiness continues in a healthy situation, despite the lower profitability of the previous years, "he said.
As for the level of employment in the sector, the President said that the drop registered last month was within expectations. There was a reduction of 0.8% in jobs, in comparison with March. In relation to April 2013, 1.1% drop was registered. According to the President of Afanvea, the reductions are a reflection of voluntary layoffs programs of workers retired or in post-retirement phase.
"Employment in the automotive sector is extremely qualified, a result of huge investment in training. Anfavea's companies will do anything not to waste this investment, using all possible mechanisms to maintain the level of jobs, "said Moan.
