Positive wants to be more aggressive on smartphones

The Positivo Informática intends to be more aggressive in the smartphone segment in 2015 as a way to compensate for the fall in sales of PCs, at a time when international brands intensify competition on the Brazilian market.
The company opened its first plant in June of smart phones and now invests in the growth of this market to present good results in next year, according to the President of Positive, helium Rotenberg.
If we can win market share in those categories that have very low participation, brings the possibility of good results, "said Rotenberg.
"We want to be more aggressive in terms of brand."
The company did not disclose the market share in smartphones, but reported that remained in the third quarter to lead in computers, with slice of 16.6 percent, up 3.2 points over the third quarter of last year, surpassing the Chinese Lenovo.
Nevertheless, sales in the third quarter of Positive totaled 665.6 thousand PCs and tablets, 3 percent drop compared to the same period in 2013. The sale of smartphones already amounted to about 53.9 thousand units to 10 thousand in the same period from 2013.
To advance in the segment, the Positive hopes that next year other telephony operators to sell their devices.
This quarter, the brand sold by the first smartphones to TIM Participações and Hi.
Will also be released new line of phones in early 2015.
Rotenberg believes that the fall in sales of PCs will be discontinued in 2015, a trend which, according to him, is already pointed to by research institutes.
To the market for tablets, the company designs, despite low growth. "We have a bid for the sale of up to 1 million tablets for the Ministry of education closed for next year," he said.
For the Executive, the expenses of the Ministry which is the main public client the company shall not be affected by the cost-cuts that should be promoted by the federal Government next year.
