Tecnovidro confirms manufacturing unit in Espírito Santo

Specializing in the processing of glass for different industrial segments, the Tecnovidro Group will invest $ 20 million to build a plant in Colatina (ES), with anticipation of commencement of operation in 2015. The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Chairman of the Group of Farroupilha, Marco De Bastiani, and by the Governor of Espirito Santo, Renato Casagrande.
The plant, which will generate 150 direct jobs and other 500 indirect, will be erected in an area of 100 thousand square meters, designed to operate in the processing of glass for the automotive sector, the company's main customer. De Bastiani defined the project as innovative for the region, which will also receive a carmaker Volare, independent unit of Marcopolo, Caxias do Sul. The plant is being constructed in the municipality of São Mateus, with capacity for 1 thousand units per year, and must be ready in this semester.
According to the President, another determining factor for the decision was the proximity to the Victoria Harbour, which will facilitate the receipt and distribution of glass. Also contributed the Government incentives. The Tecnovidro will be the first organization to utilize Development Fund resources and participation of the Holy Spirit, which has $ 200 million contribution through the Sustainable development program of the Holy Spirit to attract new investments.
Besides the Volare, other two Gaucho companies of buses are deploying units in the Southeast. Comil, Erechim, will start the production of urban models until the end of the year in the city of Lorena, São Paulo. The Neobus, Caxias do Sul, will have factory in Três Rios, Rio de Janeiro, where Mount citycar and mini-buses.
But the Tecnovidro also will extend the performance to other sectors, such as the furniture, in order to establish synergy and stimulate the development of the region. Furniture companies, such as the Itatiaia and Bertolini investing in factories in the State of Espírito Santo.
Opening of new markets, increased competitiveness, skilled labor and investments in next-generation machines were deciding factors for the increase of 10% of the company's revenue in 2012. The performance demanded 15% increase in the generation of employment. For this year the prospects are even more favourable and the Organization prepares to grow 15%.
The group, which boasts annual volume of a million m2 of glass, is formed by the Tecnovidro marks (60%), Saint Claire (30%), Casavitra (10%) and Showcase Store (shop). The Saint Claire produces aluminum profiles tempered glass for the furniture industry, and Casavitra acts in the line of home appliances and decor.
