Fertilizer factory of Petrobras should start producing in 2014

Nitrogenous fertilizer unit of Petrobras in Três Lagoas (MS) is expected to start producing in September 2014, according to Paul Leroux, General Manager of marketing, sales and logistics of Petrobras's fertilizer. The investment is $ 2.5 billion in the unit expected to produce 1.21 million tons of granulated urea. The plant will meet the demand of agricultural nitrogen in the Center-South of Brazil.
Other projects of Petrobras, which still are being studied, including a Chemical Gas unit in Linhares (ES), an ammonia in Uberaba (MG). An ammonium sulfate factory in Sergipe is already in early stage of production, scheduled for November this year.
Together, all State projects must produce in 2018 3.165 million tons of urea; 2.755 million tonnes of ammonia; 303 000 tonnes of ammonium sulphate and 276 thousand tons of sulphuric acid, according to Lucena.
