Cielo leads gain in market value, says Economática

SÃO PAULO-traded Brazilian companies had a loss of R $ 265,7 billion in market value in the first half before the end of 2012. In the period, the figure dropped 11.34%, from r $ 2,344 trillion to $ 2,078 trillion. The data have been disclosed by the Economática this Friday, 28, who compiled the value of 300 companies until the day before, or the next-to-last trading session of the semester.
In the Division by companies, the Cielo presents the highest nominal growth, as against 5.77 billion reais, to spend $ 37,292 billion in December last year to R $ 43,066 billion at the end of this month. In the same comparison, the second largest company expansion is the BRF, with R $ 5,257 billion, jumping 14.39%, from r $ 36,534 billion to r $ 41,791 billion.
The negative ranking is featured for Vale and Petrobras. The Valley had a loss of R $ 71,94 billion in market value, of R $ 215,11 billion to $ 143,17 billion, representing a fall of 33.44%. The second-worst performance was by Petrobras of r $ 254,852 billion to r $ 202,580 billion, equivalent to a nominal loss of $ 52,272 billion and 20.51 percent%.
Among the 22 sectors of the economy considered in the study of Economática, only seven grew in market value, with emphasis on chemistry, which evolved in nominal R $ 5,825 billion, R $ 37,106 billion to r $ 42,931 billion, 15.70%. Other sectors with positive performance were the data and software, electronics, industrial machinery, pulp and paper, vehicles and parts and non-metallic minerals.
The worst-performing sector in the first six months of the year, in comparison with the previous semester, was the mining, which was R $ 74,009 billion, loss of R $ 220,998 billion to r $ 146,990 billion, down 33.49%.
